By combining Russian clown artistry, pantomime, yoga elements and break dance, Kotini Junior reinvents movement. While being comically funny, he still evokes the traditional moments of melancholy and tragic of classical clowning.
It is his versatility which impresses audiences so much... At one moment, Kotini Junior`s contorted legs seem to be made of rubber. In the next moment, he throws his limbs about in a frenzy and then sorrowfully trips over himself. He adds new elements to break dance and combines yoga with dramatic facial expressions. Trained in both drama and pantomime and having studied the violin and the piano, Kotini masterfully crosses the line between normality and the absurd. As well as performing as a solo artist, he presents shows without uttering a single word.
Over two years, Kotini Junior has toured the US with the Cirque du Soleil and Germany as part of Zirkus Roncalli. Since winning the Silver Medal at the Ukrainian break dance competition in Dnepropetrovsk in 1986, Kotini has won several prizes.
